Spring Lake

Of all reconstructed holes the eighteenth at Spring Lake probably has been as much discussed as any.  Originally it was very ordinary, indeed.  The fairway was wide open and the second was absolutely blind to a green just beyond a small stream in the gully which extends in front of the new green.  This green stands forth prominently on the brow of a hillock, and a tremendous amount of fill in the back was necessary to make it stand up well to hold the shot.  The great pit extends from the left to the very center of the fairway and it offers a varying carry for the drive.
