Rogers, who is building a nine-hole course under the Work Projects Administration (WPA). The hotel clerk who played golf at the local nine-hole course, recognized Tillinghast’s name and called the city official. The official visited with Tillinghast and their discussion lasted until nearly midnight. Tillinghast wrote, “He was hungry for information and I, of course, gave him all possible advice. He knew very little about a modern golf course and it is rather pathetic to consider that money and government assistance in so misdirected. Rogers, who is building a nine-hole course under the Work Projects Administration (WPA). The hotel clerk who played golf at the local nine-hole course, recognized Tillinghast’s name and called the city official. The official visited with Tillinghast and their discussion lasted until nearly midnight. Tillinghast wrote, “He was hungry for information and I, of course, gave him all possible advice. He knew very little about a modern golf course and it is rather pathetic to consider that money and government assistance in so misdirected.
